Established in 2001, the .NAME generic Top-Level Domain is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are popular by. At first, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to secure john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level domain names remained active.

You will have the opportunity to switch the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been done.
